For Amy Winehouse, 2009 starts the way 2008 did: with her dealing with drug-related trouble.
She will have to appear in a court in Norway on January 12th to appeal a fine in a drug-possession case.
Winehouse and her husband Blake were arrested in October, 2007 during a concert stop in Norway. They were charged with possession of a quarter-ounce of pot. They were fined $415 each, but Winehouse is appealing the fine, claiming police made mistakes in the case.
An attorney for Winehouse in Norway says the singer's paying the fine amounts to a guilty plea. And that, the lawyer says, could have serious consequences if she were to try to enter the U.S. You'll remember Winehouse was denied a U.S. visa this time last year when she wanted to perform at the Grammys.
She still ended up winning five awards, including best record, best song and best new artist.
