Speaking to the US edition of Good Housekeeping, Banderas said: 'On Saturday nights we love having dinner at home with friends. We'll have Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem over to play games.'
The 51-year-old actor has been married to Griffith, 54, since 1996. The couple have one child together - 15-year-old daughter Stella.
Banderas offers some insight into what it's like to live with the Working Girl star.
'The one thing I always do around the house is cook,' he said. 'It's one of my passions. I usually make paella for the family on Sundays. My daughter Stella organises the recycling. If I put plastic in the organic can she gives me a ticket and I pay her a dollar.'
He added: 'What I love about my family is how quickly and beautifully we became a family. When I married Melanie, she had two kids, and soon enough, we had Stella.
'Our favourite thing was for all five of us to get in bed, eat popcorn, and watch TV. Even though the kids are older, we still do that.'
