Ashley Tisdale engaged?

Ashley Tisdale is said to be "over the moon" about walking down the aisle with her beau.

The High School Musical star has been dating Annie Automatic musician Christopher French for around nine months.

Apparently the couple are so madly in love with each other that they have decided to get married.

It is rumoured that Christopher proposed to Ashley on Thursday night while they enjoyed a romantic evening at the top of the Empire State Building in New York City.

"It happened on the 103rd floor at the top of the Empire State Building," an insider confirmed to Life & Style magazine. "It was totally romantic and Ashley's over the moon, of course!"

Shortly after their date, Ashley shared her excitement over the event with her over ten million Twitter followers.

"Best night of my life. We're on top of the world," she tweeted.

Before engaging in a romance with Christopher, Ashley dated director Scott Speer for two years until they broke up in December 2011.

The actress was romantically linked to Factory rocker Jared Murillo for a few months in 2009 before hooking up with Scott.

Ashley and Christopher were first pictured together on December 26 during a shopping trip in Los Angeles.

He was previously linked to actress Kaley Cuoco.

It is rumoured that Ashley was deeply attracted to Christopher's rocker demeanour initially.

"She likes those rocker types," a source told Us Weekly previously. "They have mutual friends and just met through hanging out."
