The 32-year-old actor, who stars alongside Natalie Portman in No Strings Attached, said that the movie takes a more 'realistic' look at how young people actually approach relationships.
He told HollywoodNews.com, 'I think this movie does point out, though, that we have to stop acting like casual sex isn't happening.
'We need to start to be realistic about what a modern courting relationship is like.'
But he did admit that he was given 'hope' after stepdaughter Talullah was treated like a lady whilst on a date.
'My youngest daughter just went on a date with a kid,' he said. 'I made him come in. He said hello. He walked her to the door at the end of the night and did all the right things. So that gives me hope.'
