Following their recently released second album, 'Citrus', sold out shows across the US and a rapturously received debut tour in Europe earlier this year, on 12 November 2007 Asobi Seksu are to release a brand new single.
Called 'Strawberries', the One Little Indian released single is lifted from the band's second album and comes in three commercial formats, featuring the original version of the title track plus remixes by CSS, The Whip and Ulrich Schnauss. The single will be available on two red vinyl 7"s, with the first coming in a gatefold sleeve into which the second 7" will fit, plus a 4 track CD. It will also be available digitally through all digital retailers from eMusic to itunes.
Asobi Seksu are a formidable live act. Perfectly executing both the rhythmic precision and saturated ethereal melodies of their acclaimed albums, the band delivers a brilliant live performance. Never wasting a second, they blend pop sensibilities and poignant moments of melancholia with unexpected sonic explosions. The single will follow an extensive UK Tour.

Formed in 2002, the band is Japanese singer/keyboardist Yuki, guitarist/singer James Hanna and drummer Ben Shapiro. Asobi Seksu eschew flavour-of-the-month posturing in favour of a sound that is intense, emotive, complex, and thoroughly beautiful. Yuki's vivid stories of loss and heartbreak - sung in English and Japanese - soar above ebbing squalls of deeply textured guitar noise, swirling beauty and pulsating energy that would make Kevin Shields blush.document.write(unescape("
