Supergroup Atoms For Peace (Thom Yorke, Flea, Nigel Godrich) deliver a song and do a MoMA DJ set.
It has been a long time coming, but we've finally got a proper recording of a tune from supergroup Atoms For Peace, featuring Thom Yorke of Radiohead and longtime preoducer Nigel Godrich, as well as Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M., Smashing Pumpkins), and Mauro Refosco of Forro in The Dark.
The song 'Default' has been delivered via Radiohead's website, Yorke writing "You may have heard that I have a new project called Atoms for Peace. The name comes from some shows of The Eraser that happened a couple of years ago with Mauro, Joey, Nigel and Flea.
"We got a big buzz from them and discovered loads of energy from transforming the music from electronic to live," he continues, "and so afterwards, we carried on for a few days in the studio and decided to make it a loose, on-going thing. Immersed in the area between the two… electronic and live."
'Default' will be released as a 12-inch next month, and a full album will be released in 2013 through XL.
Consequence Of Sound report that the group aired more tunes during a DJ set at MoMA PS1 preceding their 'Warm Up' outdoor summer concert series.
