Jay Dee Springbett, a former judge on Australian Idol, has been found dead in a Sydney hotel. He was 36.
Springbett was a former Sony Music A&R exec. He worked with Rogue Traders, Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy and Shannon Noll in his time at Sony.
Police were alerted after he failed to answer calls from his office. They discovered his body at 3:30pm yesterday in his Woolloomooloo flat.
He joined Australian Idol in 2009 replacing Kyle Sandilands. It was the final year of the show. It was the year won by Stan Walker.
Police have ruled out foul-play in the death.
