Since recording her last album four years ago, the 26-year-old has been through a divorce with Sum 41 singer, Deryck Whibley, and started a new relationship with Hills star Brody Jenner.
The What The Hell singer said that no topic was off-limits on her new album and that she hoped her honesty would resonate with her fans.
She told PopEater.com: 'What I did do on this album was I did not hold back, and I allowed myself to go to those maybe scary places of being really honest and vulnerable and putting myself out there on some of the songs in certain moments.'
