Avril Lavigne says planning a wedding is a "full-time job".
The Canadian singer is engaged to Nickelback star Chad Kroeger and preparations of their special day are in full swing.
Avril has enlisted the help of a specialist to ensure the nuptials go with a bang.
She is astounded by how much is involved with the arrangements.
"I'm planning, making plans," she told MTV News. "It's going pretty smooth. My wedding planner, she knows what she is doing, but there's a lot that goes into it. Planning a wedding is almost like a full-time job. There's a lot of details."
Avril is keeping the theme of her wedding under wraps for now. She recently told talk show host Chelsea Handler that the day will be edgy. It's known she wants it to be unlike anything people will have seen before.
It's a busy time for the 28-year-old star, who has a new album coming out later this year. She worked with Chad on several tracks for the record, which is how they got together.
"He came down to write a song with me for the record and then he didn't leave," she laughed. "Then we just ended up becoming really good friends, and setting up more writing sessions and now we're engaged."
The two singers confirmed their engagement in August 2012 following six months of dating. Avril has previously gushed about how perfect they are as couple, revealing Chad is just the sort of man she has envisioned herself settling down with.
"He's got it together, he's mature, he's done his thing, he's lived life, he's been around the world on tour, I've been around the world on tour and we really just bonded over music and song writing. We have a lot in common," she gushed.
Avril was previously married to Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley, with their union lasting three years.
