Rough Beats Festival today announced that New York rapper Azealia Banks will be the Saturday headline act at this year's festival, taking place 8th- 10th June in Clapham, Yorkshire. She will feature live on the main stage at 10pm on Saturday 9th June.
Azealia Banks is one of the hottest and most exciting new prospects in music, currently performing on the sold out 2012 NME Awards UK tour. This will be one of her first headlining shows before her Autumn UK tour.
Headlining on Friday are Leeds' Pulled Apart By Horses and on Sunday Super Furry Animals' legendary frontman Gryff Rhys. Also playing are Mahala Rai Banda (Romania), KCC Orchestra (France), Cock n Bull Kid with lots more artists on the website www.roughbeatsfestival.co.uk
Rough Beats Festival started as a party and has grown by word of mouth from just 100 guests in 2003, to 1500 in 2011 and 3000 in 2012. The event runs from 1pm Friday 8th June until 11pm Sunday 10th June. This year's event looks set to be better than ever and the organisers are promising pound-for-pound the best festival with a bill to rival any in the UK.
Weekend tickets are £65 and include camping and day tickets are £30 and include camping until 10am the next morning. The word of mouth nature of the event has seen the biggest ever take-up of early bird and pre-announcement ticket sales in nine years. The event will definitely sell out but tickets can still be bought from the website and various outlets.
