THE BACKSTREET BOYS have said that they want to be as famous as the Rolling Stones.
Singer Nick Carter said the newly-reformed boy band are now here to stay.
The group, who had a string of hits with Everybody and I Want It That Way, recently reunited but without former member Kevin Richardson.
And speaking to WENN, Carter said: "We're here to stay - we want to be as big as The Rolling Stones."
Speaking about his battle with drugs and alcohol, he added that he had sobered up for the tour and had lost four stone.
He said: "There are demons I am fighting but I just want to be fit and healthy. If you fall off the horse, you just have to get back on again."
The Backstreet Boys kick off their European tour in Portugal on October 30, before arriving in the UK in November for six dates.
