Band Aid single Do They Know It's Christmas? is to be released for the third time for famine relief.
The multimillion-selling No1 from December 1984 will be in the shops again soon - 20 years after it was recorded by the likes of Bono, Duran Duran, Sting, Boy George and George Michael.
The new release will feature a remix of the original single on the A-side with the 1989 Band Aid II version on the B-side.
Last night Sir Bob Geldof, who launched the first Band Aid with Midge Ure said: 'I'm 100 per cent behind it.'
'The money will be critical as there are more severe famine conditions now and it will get worse in the next couple of months.' Bob added: 'It is too early to say who will remix the record. I might leave that to Midge to sort out.'
Universal label chief executive Lucian Grange said: 'We are going to remix the original. We want to bring it up to date, give it new character. But it is a stunning record and will be difficult to better.' I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Fatboy SLim works their magic on it.
'I'd also love to see a new raft of stars re-recording the original.'
