Brian Wilson's life is set to be retold on the big screen, with a biopic on the colourful Beach Boys frontman in the works.
Movie bosses have bought the rights to Wilson's life story, as well as that of his wife, Melinda.
Oren Moverman, who penned the Bob Dylan-based I'm Not There - which infamously featured six actors all playing a different version of him - will turn his attention to one of the true genius's of the 1960's.
The Hollywood Reporter claims the film will focus on his early musical career, including his nervous breakdown during the making of The Beach Boy's infamous lost album Smile, and his subsequent battle with mental heath issues.
Wilson has been the subject of a movie before, with actor Federick Weller portraying him in the 2000 TV film The Beach Boys: An American Family.
The Beach Boys music is also set to be used as the basis of an upcoming musical about the 1960's California surfing scene.
