The creators of the Beach Boys Broadway musical didn't have to worry about Brian Wilson being protective of his songs. Director John Carrafa says Wilson told them, "Here are the songs, have a blast." He and playwright Richard Dresser studied the Beach Boys catalog to find songs that fit the story line, but they had some "must-have" songs too.
"California Girls, "Surfin' U-S-A," "Fun, Fun, Fun" and "Good Vibrations" are all in the show, as are some lesser-known ones like "Car Crazy Cutie" and "Sail On Sailor." Dresser says the good thing is that the Beach Boys hit songs are good songs, so they didn't feel they were jamming the hits into the show. The musical, called "Good Vibrations," opens January 27th.document.write(unescape("
