Beastie Boys and Wu-Tang Clan confirm EXIT

More acts have been confirmed for EXIT festival which will take place from 12 till 15th of July in Serbia. Beastie Boys and Wu-Tang Clan are newest confirmed acts.

Beastie Boys will play at Exit festival on Friday, 13th July, while Wu-Tang Clan which will perform on 15th of July. Also confirmed for the festival are LTJ Bukem and Basement Jaxx. The Cardigans. Franz Ferdinand , HIM, Pet Shop Boys, The Cult Morrissey, Billy Idol and Scissor Sisters performed at the last year festival which attracted more than 150 000 visitors. As part of EXIT promo party The Chemical Brothers will perform in Belgrade on 13th of June.

From its humble beginnings as a student initiated project, EXIT has become the biggest music and cultural event in southeast Europe. Now in its 7th year the festival is a communal gathering of young people from all over Europe who come together over the 4-day extravaganza to celebrate freedom, change, peace and positivity. It's an opportunity to exchange energy and ideas, to build relationships, and above all else to party long and hard with thousands of like minded people.

EXIT takes place in the historic Petrovaradin Fortress, built high on the banks of the River Danube offering stunning views over the city of Novi Sad. The ancient fortress site was originally occupied by the Romans, and re-built by the Austro Hungarian Empire to defend against the Turks in the 17th Century.

EXIT has always attracted the finest international talent and it's just getting bigger and better. Approximately 600 performances will take place within the 6km sq castle complex, with a broad genre booking policy headlined by some of the biggest live acts in popular music. The Fortress houses 18 performance arenas; the dance arena is regarded by many as the best in Europe. Guests who have already played Exit include; White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, Morrissey, Massive Attack, Fatboy Slim, Scissor sisters, Underworld. Expect more of the same this year. Program to be formally announced in April 2006.

EXIT 07 dates are July 12 – 15, and so far Wu Tang Clan, Bassement Jaxx and LTJ Bukem have confirmed.
