The Beatles' A Day in the Life has been voted the best British song of all time.
A poll of music experts chose the track, from the Sgt Pepper's album, ahead of Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks with Oasis anthem Wonderwall third.
Q magazine, which compiled the top 50, said of the winner: 'It remains the ultimate sonic rendition of what it means to be British. A masterpiece and the greatest British pop track ever.'
God Save The Queen by the Sex Pistols was fourth, followed by Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody then The Who's My Generation.
