A rare signed copy of the revised management agreement between The Beatles and Brian Epstein more than trebled its estimate at auction today.
The document, dated October 1 1962, was bought by a British private collector for £122,850 at Christie's, South Kensington, London.
It had been estimated at between £25,000 and £35,000.
A leather collar worn by John Lennon throughout 1967 and 1968 went to a US private collector for £117,250. Its estimate was £10,000 to £15,000.
Christie's said it was its most successful pop memorabilia sale, totalling £788,643.
Sarah Hodgson, associate director, head of popular entertainment, said: “There was frenzied bidding from international collectors throughout the sale, especially for the Beatles contract and John Lennon's talisman necklace.â€
