To celebrate the release of the Beatles' digitally remastered studio albums on 9th September, Richer Sounds and Apple/EMI are offering everyone the chance to listen and compare a selection of samples of the new versions with the old at all of Richer Sounds' 49 stores nationwide from Monday 7th September, a full 2 days before the remastered back catalogue is officially released to the world.
To celebrate the event all stores will open late until 7pm on 7th and 8th September and after 5pm there will be free wine and beer too!
Pay any of Richer Sounds' stores a visit and get prepared to Twist and Shout!
The Beatles studio albums have been largely untouched for 22 years since they were released in 1987 and have taken dedicated studio engineers 4 years to perfect and "preserve the authenticity and integrity of the original recordings" in order to ensure "The highest fidelity the catalogue has seen since its original release" according to Apple/EMI.
From Monday 7th September Richer Sounds will have an area in every store where fans can get a listen to the differences between the old and new Beatles releases as part of their 'Bad Sound Kills Good Music' campaign, which is designed to promote just how much you are missing out on when you don't listen to the quality audio recordings that your favorite artists have toiled over for countless hours on quality hi-fi equipment to really bring them alive.
Richer's Bad Sound Kills Good Music campaign aims to show the iPod generation what they are missing by listening to their favorite music at home on a tinny stereo or on many of today's iPod speaker docks and just how much more pleasure you can be had by listening to the music they love on a decent system and in particularly a hi-fi amplifier, an iPod dock or CD player and a pair of speakers.
"Even our most affordable £200 hi-fi separates system will bring your Beatles favorites alive unlike any iPod speaker dock out there" says Richer Sounds' Marketing Director, Claudia Vernon "and spend £500 on an amp, CD player and speakers and you'll be blown away!"
In-store visitors will be invited to join Richer Sounds' VIP club, which will entitle each customer to enter a competition and win a trip to the world-famous Abbey Road studios to hear the remastered albums played on some of the equipment they were engineered with. Runners up prizes include albums and box sets.
