A treasure trove of Beatles memorabilia found in a suitcase last month appears to be all fake.
We reported last month that Fraser Claughton bought a suitcase at an Australian flea market for 36 dollars and it was packed with rare photos, concert programs and unreleased recordings. Pete Nash, a memorabilia expert with the British Beatles Fan Club, examined the contents and calls it "farcical."
He says the tickets stubs are photocopies from the "Lennon Legend" book published last year, and the photos are laser scans. Nash says the unreleased recordings were supposedly in their metal canisters -- but audio tape is not stored in metal canisters because it's magnetic.
Claughton has been unavailable for comment.
