Absolute Radio and Hard Rock Cafe today have announced British singer-songwriter Ben Howard as the next act to perform an intimate gig at the Hard Rock Cafe London, bringing an acoustic folk flavour to the iconic restaurant's stage.
Born and bred in Devonshire, Ben Howard grew up with a penchant for folk music having been exposed to his parent's record collection boasting the likes of Van Morrison, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell. The budding musician left university during the last year of his course to pursue a full time career in music.
His debut album, 'Every Kingdom' was released in October 2011 and reached Top 10 in the charts, receiving much critical acclaim and drawing comparisons to fellow acoustic artists such as Bon Iver. Prior to its release, singles from the album including 'Old Pine' and 'Keep Your Head Up' launched Ben Howard onto the scene and he is now set to release the third single 'Wolves' on February 27th 2012.
Absolute Radio DJ Pete Donaldson will be announcing details of the gig live on Absolute Radio and said, "Ben's music offers up a heady mix of acoustic folk and percussion and his style lends itself perfectly to the intimate set up we have at the Absolute Radio Sessions at the Hard Rock Cafe."
The Hard Rock Cafe London who celebrated their 40th anniversary last year will host the exclusive gig. Tickets can only be won by tuning into Absolute Radio, or visiting www.absoluteradio.co.uk.
