Ben Lee has covered John Lennon's 'Woman Is The Nigger Of The World'.
"When we made the album, I recorded a cover of John Lennon's "Woman is the Nigger of the World", which will be a b-side to one of the singles off the record," Lee said in his blog. "I have always loved this song, and it is tied in to the themes of the album. Of course, back when it was released, and still now, many people are unable to get past the use of the 'N' word in the title to look at what the song is really saying."
In keeping with this theme, his next album 'The Return Of Venus' features a tribute to Yoko in song, where Lee sings about his admiration for the artist.
In a recent interview with Undercover he said "She's one of the few artists from the 60s who is still getting out there with a message of peace and love. She's sticking to her guns."
The song doesn't have a definite place as of yet, but Lee plans on releasing it as a b-side to an upcoming single.
