The singer admits her fans seem disappointed her group has never written another song as successful as 2007 single 'Standing in the Way of Control', but she is happy the tune gained them such notoriety.
She told NME magazine: "I say it sold a million records worldwide. Not so much in the UK, and nothing in America, but you go to Europe, where there's not so much focus on being hip, and it's wild.
"People say, 'Well, you never wrote another 'Standing in the Way of Control', I say that song was a complete fluke."
The 30-year-old singer also admitted she doesn't feel she and her band - which also includes Brace Paine and Hannah Blilie - are fantastic songwriters, and that will ever come up with another track like
'Standing in the Way of Control'
Beth added: "I never considered Gossip great songwriters. We could stand in a room for a week and never be able to work out how to write another song like that - we're just not good enough musicians. But could anyone?
"In some territories 'Standing.' is the greatest-selling international single of all time. That's crazy!"
