Outkast's Big Boi has been busying himself mentoring the phenomenal Janelle Monae, but he hasn't been too busy to make a record of his own.
Today the track listing for 'Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty', Boi's first solo album (unless you count his half of 2003's 'Speakerboxxx/The Love Below') revealed a cavalcade of guests, but strangely none including his Outkast partner in crime, Andre 3000.
It's not due to any crisis in the Outkast camp, more that Jive Records are being jive suckas who can't jive to this jive.
In an interview with GQ Magazine, Big Boi said "Jive Records told me my album is a piece of art, and they didn't know what to do with it. So I moved it over to Def Jam. And now Jive is trying to block Dre from being on my record. We can't be on songs together now."
Andre does, however, make an appearance as a producer for the track 'You Ain't No DJ' (feat. Yelawolf).
Of course, if you want to hear the awesome collaboration that won't be on the record due to bureaucratic red tape, you can just click on the YouTube link at the end of this story.
