Organisers for the Big Day Out have donated $20,000 for the Queensland Flood Relief.
The money from the 2011 January Big Day Out shows is part of an on-going initiative by Big Day Out to give part of the proceeds to charity.
The Big Day Out Queensland show will be held on January 23 at the Gold Coast Parklands. The site has been spared from the heavy rainfalls of just one-hour drive north.
Some roads to the Gold Coast have been closed because of the floods but at this stage Big Day Out expect the Queensland show will go ahead as planned.
Building of the stages for the Queensland Big Day Out began at Parklands this morning.
The first Big Day Out will get underway next week in Auckland.
