Legendary ex-Rolling Stones bassist announces rare London outing.
Bill Wyman gained worldwide fame as bass player with the Rolling Stones, playing on a string of the band's multi-million selling albums. Since leaving the group in the '90s, Wyman has been able to do the many other things which being in one of the world's most successful bands prevented him from doing; he has become a million-selling author, an acclaimed photographer, a restaurant owner, a film and TV producer and perhaps most importantly, the leader of his very own band. The Rhythm Kings, formed by Wyman in 1997, comprises a constantly changing line-up of internationally renowned musicians whose live performances have garnered praise from the worlds of jazz, blues, R&B and rock.
"In a world where musicians are increasingly pigeon-holed and pushed in a musical direction that allows labels to tick all the marketing boxes, I'm lucky enough to be able to play music that I like best, with musicians who are a joy to play with. The music we like to play is like no one else's in its breadth and range, which obviously appeals to us, whom love playing it, but most importantly to people who love music." Bill Wyman
Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings will be performing at indigO2 on May 4th 2010.
