When your name is Billy Corgan you can afford to have a bit of fun, like finding a few old bands and signing them to your new label.
Billy Corgan has gathered The Germs, Strawberry Alarm Clock and The Electric Prunes to record for his new record label.
Strawberry Alarm Clock was around in the 60s and is best known for the no. 1 1967 US hit 'Incense and Peppermints'. They are at writing/demo stage now and will start recording soon.
The Electric Prunes formed in 1965 and contributed two songs to the movie Easy Rider. After disappearing for 30 years, they reformed in 2001. They have two songs down and an EP on the way with Corgan.
The Germs was the first band for Pat Smear from Foo Fighters. They plan to record two songs written by the late Darby Crash and Smear. Crash committed suicide in 1980 and the songs went unfinished. Smear (guitar), Lorna Doom (bass) and Don Bolles (drums) have reunited to finish the two songs 'Out of Time' and 'Beyond Hurt – Beyond Help' with Shane West on vocals.
As well as all of this, Corgan plans on releasing 44 Smashing Pumpkins songs on 11 EPs over this time also.
