Billy Idol back on stage

Billy Idol staged an intimate performance for fans in Los Angeles on Friday night (March 25).

Celebrating his first album in over a decade â€" ‘Devil's Playground' - the singer played an hour and a half long set at the city's Roxy Theatre, to a crowd that included former Sex Pistol Steve Jones and members of The Cult.

"I don't think you're ever getting rid of me," Idol said to the packed audience, before playing his hit 'White Wedding'.

His set also included several songs from his new LP, including ‘Body Snatcher' and 'World Comin' Down' alongside his more familiar material like 'Rebel Yell' 'Dancing With Myself', 'Mony Mony' and 'Sweet 16'.

"Do I look better than Vince Neil?" the spiky, bleach-blond singer asked the crowd after taking off his shirt, referencing last year's comeback of his friend in Motley Crue, who appeared in a VH1 makeover documentary.

"I'm just being cruel and evil because I can," he added, posturing in his toned physique before 1980s hit 'Eyes Without A Face'.

At one point, Idol brought Jones on stage to play guitar for 'Ready, Steady, Go', which he introduced by saying "I've been playing this song for 26 years!"
