As Reading Festival kicks off for another year, charity ActionAid has asked some of the top bands who will be performing to put together exclusive playlists, based on the issue of climate change.
Bands like Billy Talent, Madina Lake, Fake Problems, The Plight, The Crystal Method and The Bouncing Souls have all added their contribution in support of ActionAid's Food vs Dust climate campaign –calling on the UK government to act now, before we face a future of dust.
Choices range from classics like Michael Jackson's Heal the World to Paul Simon's Graceland and Don't Go Near the Water by Johnny Cash to more hardcore selections like Bad Religion's Kyoto Now! and the Billy Talent Anti Flag collaboration Turn Your Back.
The playlists are now available to view and buy exclusively on the ActionAid website. A percentage of money from every track purchased will go directly to ActionAid's work.
For the eighth year running, ActionAid will be taking its Bollocks to Poverty experience to Reading Festival. As part of the campaign, it will be giving festival goers the chance to do their bit and be photographed with a message for the UK Government, ahead of December's crucial climate change summit in Copenhagen.
The summit will see world leaders meeting to discuss ways to halt climate change. With climate change already causing 300,000 deaths a year and unpredictable weather patterns stopping many from being able to grow the food they need to survive, the outcome of this meeting is crucial. It could decide if millions of people face a future of food or dust
