Black Sabbath announce that they will play an intimate homecoming show at the O2 Academy in Birmingham on 19th May in preparation for their much-anticipated headline performance at Download Festival on 10th June. It will be their first show in their home city for thirteen years.
The band are currently working on their first studio album in thirty three years with Grammy-winning producer Rick Rubin.
The original four members of BLACK SABBATH--OZZY OSBOURNE, TONY IOMMI, GEEZER BUTLER, and BILL WARD have reunited to record their first new studio album in 33 years with esteemed producer Rick Rubin and to embark on a massive world tour in 2012.
OSBOURNE, IOMMI, BUTLER and WARD all gathered on 11/11/11 to announce the news at a Los Angeles press conference at the Whisky A Go-Go where the band performed their first Los Angeles date exactly 41 years ago. The event was hosted by revered musical and spoken word artist Henry Rollins.
