ParanoidThere has been talk and rumors for a long time, but it is now confirmed that the original lineup of Black Sabbath have reformed and are currently rehearsing.
According to MetalTalk.net, the four original members, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward are gathered in a secret rehearsal studio and are rehearsing for a possible tour.
Earlier today (Tuesday), the Birmingham Mail confirmed the rehearsals and an album could also be a possibility. Iommi told the paper that he and Ozzy had been working on new material since June. "We're really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we've been writing is really good. It's more back to the old original stuff."
He also talked about how hard it's been to keep the reunion a secret from the fans. "It's all been very hush-hush. Ozzy's been the worst at trying to hold it back. He's doing a lot of TV and he's being asked stuff about a reunion and he's going 'well I never say never'. He told me, 'I don't know what to say'."
The original lineup formed in 1969 and continued for ten years until Osbourne was fired from the group. Various configurations of the group have come and gone since.
