Overview
The 42-year-old filmmaker – who has previous experience in the genre - made four new TV commercials for US based organisation The Meth Project.
Aronofsky’s cult 2000 film Requiem for a Dream - starring Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly and achieving a Best Actress Academy Award for Ellen Burstyn - captured the horror of heroin and speed addiction.
The four new hard-hitting commercials show youngsters in similarly dire situations.
According to a spokesman for The Meth Project: '[The ads] aim to reduce first-time meth use with their hard-hitting and graphic portrayals.'
