Black Veil Brides has responded to the mixed reception they recieved at Download festival last weekend.
The controversial band, famed for their dramatic look and copious use of make up, were greeted by jeers during their Download performance with lead singer Andy Biersack having to dodge bottles throughout the show.
Speaking to BBC Newsbeat about the trouble, the band remained defiant that nobody will ever defeat them - saying it is their job to stand up to opposition.
"It's really important for us as a band, that when someone is giving us grief on stage, to show our fans how important it is that they stand up for themselves and that they feel confident in themselves," said Biersack.
"It's not easy to be the weird kid or the rebel."
Adding: "We know that listening to Black Veil Brides, wearing Black Veil Bride shirts or being in Black Veil Brides isn't always the most popular thing in the world."
Black Veil Brides won the prize for best single at the Kerrang! Awards last week. See pictures from the event here.
