Blake Lively has joked she should have been "medicated" for her obsession with the Spice Girls when she was younger.
The 25-year-old actress was a huge fan of the British girl band as a child. She often recreated the iconic outfits worn by Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C.
"When I was a child I probably should have been medicated about my obsession with the Spice Girls," she quipped to the latest issue of UK magazine Marie Claire. "I had the Buffalo shoes, a customised Baby Spice necklace – when I say custom made it was made out of plastic from the local mall – and a Union Jack dress.
"I had poster after poster."
Blake fulfilled a childhood dream by meeting the girl group recently.
The star was in London last month and had dinner with the band, who briefly reformed to perform at the London Olympic Games closing ceremony.
"On the last night I went out for dinner. After I'd arrived, I was told a bunch of paparazzi had showed up. I thought, 'That's so weird. I've been left alone most of my stay – why are they bothering me now?' But then someone told me it was because Victoria Beckham was in the same restaurant. I was like, 'OK, that makes sense,'" she recalled.
"She's a friend of mine and I would have said hello but I decided I didn't want to bother her. Then I was told that she was there with the rest of the Spice Girls. I was like, I definitely need to say hello! So, there you have it; I got to hang out with the Spice Girls. It was my lifelong dream. That's it now. I can quit."
