Silent Alarm, the debut album by London's Bloc Party released on Monday 14th February 2005, has shipped gold (100,000 copies). This follows their acclaimed single So Here We Are, which was released on January 31st reaching number 5 in the single charts.
The band's UK success is also being replicated across the globe. The album has already entered the top 5 in Japan making them, currently, the most successful UK band in the Japanese charts.

Additionally, the band looks set to enter the high end of most charts across Europe and are enjoying particular success in Germany and France.
