Just days after his death, music legend Bo Diddley will be honoured by the University of Florida with an honorary degree.
The University had already started the process for the degree before the death of Diddley earlier this week.
Approval for the degree is now expected to be a formality as the faculty senate has already approved the award.
A private wake for the family and friends of the music legend will be held on June 6 at the Showers of Blessing Harvest Center in Gainesville, Florida.
There will be a public viewing of the body between 1 and 2pm on Saturday, June 7. The funeral will take place between 2 and 5pm immediately after the viewing.
In lieu of flowers, fans are requested to donate to:
The Bo Diddley Charitable Foundation, c/o Ronald Stevens, Esq., 280 East Hathaway Avenue, Bronson, Fla., 32621.
