The BBC launch a new website to offer thousands of audio downloads at www.bbcaudiozone.com.
The new mini site, runs through the digital retailer Audible.co.uk and has over 1,400 BBC Audiobook titles available to sample and download from the latest travelogue release from Chris Stewart (ex-drummer of Genesis) to the audio book of Bob Dylan. With a whole range of genres available, audio downloads are becoming the next big thing for the iPod generation. The ease of use and the breadth of material offers listeners the chance to add an extra dimension to their mp3 players and means downloads are on the increase worldwide.
Content can be downloaded and played on your PC and MP3 player or burned onto a CD. The ease of use has made this popular with both parents looking to spend a quiet car journey and commuters after a more entertaining way to spend their journeys. The range of content caters for all tastes
The latest RAJAR figures have shown that radio listening figures are on the increase with audiences choosing to tune in via their computers, mobile phones and mp3 players. Audio downloads are an extension of this and as listeners seek a wider range of choice, everything they need can be found on BBC Audiozone.
The new BBC Audio Zone mini-site is highlighted on Audible's home page and can be reached by clicking on the link in the top navigation bar. It is divided into easily navigable categories such as travelogues, classic fiction and comedy.
