Bob Dylan's new album 'Shadows in the Night' will be released next year, according to a flyer tucked inside copies of his new 'Basement Tapes' box set.
News of the album came earlier this year when Dylan posted a cover of Frank Sinatra's 1945 hit, 'Full Moon and Empty Arms' with a spokesperson for the singer-songwriter telling Rolling Stone: "The track is definitely from a forthcoming album due later on this year," although clearly the schedule has changed since then. The song came as no suprise as recent albums of his have been heavily influenced by this era of music.
Inserted into the cover, the note inside the box set reads: "Bob Dylan, Shadows In The Night, new album coming in 2015."
With much speculation that the record will be a covers album, it will be interesting to see which, if any, other artists Dylan has deemed worthy of re-working.
Featuring up to 30 songs of new material, 'The Basement Tapes' will be released on 4 November with no release date as yet for 'Shadows in the Night'.
