Bob Dylan has played in Vietnam for the very first time ever last night (April 10, 2011).
Dylan performed in the capital Ho Chi Minh City, the city formerly known as Saigon during the American invasion of the 60s.
When America was decimating Vietnam during the war, Dylan's music was a soundtrack to the protest against the US government.
Despite the historic occasion, the Dylan show was far from a sell-out. There were around 4000 empty seats last night at RMIT University when Dylan hit the stage.
Like China days earlier, Dylan had to submit a setlist for approval before the show. His two biggest protest songs 'Blowin' In The Wind' and 'The Times They Are A Changin'' were absent from last night's set.
The complete setlist was:
Gonna Change My Way Of Thinking
(from Slow Train Coming, 1979)
It Aint Me, Babe (from Another Side of Bob Dylan, 1964)
