Bon Iver Debuts at No. 4 on U.K. Charts; Derulo Has Top Single

Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" (Interscope/Universal) started a second stint (and third week in total) as the U.K.'s No. 1 album yesterday, as Jason Derulo debuted atop the singles chart with "Don't Wanna Go Home" (Warner Bros./Warner Music).

Earlier this month, "Born This Way" spent its first two weeks at the U.K. summit and its next two at No. 3, but now rebounds to the top with 47,000 new sales, according to the Official Charts Company, and a running tally of 406,000. Three tracks from it remain in the singles top 40, two of them moving back up: "The Edge of Glory" climbs 16-8 and the title track 39-34, while "Judas" slips 29-31. Lady Gaga's previous album "The Fame" also improved, 20-13.

Adele's current and previous albums held steady on the new survey, with "21" at No. 2 and "19" at No. 5 (XL Recordings). Last week's No. 1, Take That's "Progress" album (Polydor/Universal), fell to No. 3 while Bon Iver's self-titled set for 4AD debuted at what is easily a U.K. career-best No. 4, with 31,000 sales. Bon Iver's previous album "For Emma, Forever Ago" reached No. 42 in 2008.

Also in the top ten, Dutch star Caro Emerald's "Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor" (Dramatico) climbed again, 8-7, while Bruno Mars' "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" (Elektra/Warner Music) and Rihanna's "Loud" (Def Jam/Universal) bounced back, 11-8 and 15-9 respectively. There were top 20 debuts for Pitbull's "Planet Pit" (J/Sony Music Entertainment) at No. 18 and Barry Manilow's "15 Minutes" (Rhino/Warner Music) at No. 20. On the compilation chart, "Now That's What I Call Music! 78" (EMI Virgin/UMTV) moved back 3-1 for its tenth week at No. 1.

"Don't Wanna Go Home" is Derulo's second U.K. No. 1 single, following last year's "In My Head," and sold 76,000 to unseat Example's "Changed The Way You Kiss Me" (Ministry of Sound), which opened at the top last week but moved down a place on the new chart.

The next highest singles debut was "Badman Riddim (Jump)" (Levels/Ministry of Sound) by Vato Gonzalez and Foreign Beggars, at No. 7. Gonzalez is a Dutch DJ and producer, and Foreign Beggars a long-running, London-based hip-hop and grime outfit. Also on the new listing, Katy Perry jumped 24-11 with "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" (Virgin/EMI).
