In 2007, Bon Jovi opened the O2 Arena in London, now the world's most popular venue.
On returning to begin a 12-date residency today, the band marked the occasion with a very special event. They took to the O2 roof for a unique performance that was beamed live into Peninsular Square's High Definition Screen for fans in front of the venue.
Tonight is opening night, but Bon Jovi treated London to a special preview with 4 songs from their world tour set list, while their temporary home city stretched out all around them - 58 metres above the ground, as high Nelson's Column and with spectacular views of the London skyline.
Helped up there by trained mountaineers, the New Jersey boys blasted out tracks We Weren't Born To Follow and Superman Tonight from latest smash hit album The Circle, then all time classics It's My Life and You Give Love A Bad Name.
The band also re-dedicated the Lyric Wall; a unique giant wall inside the VIP lounge at The O2. The mammoth sized canvas represents the only venue on earth where a single band's lyrics are embedded into the building. As much as any club, theatre or stadium is in the world, this is very much Bon Jovi's house!
The band opened The O2 on 24th June 2007. The now famous O2 residencies have become synonymous with the biggest acts in the world.
