Around 70,000 Bon Jovi fans have been estimated to have flocked into Central Park on Saturday for a free concert by the band.
67,500 tickets were given away to the show with an estimated 48,500 getting on the lawn to see the concert.
The City of New York now limits attendance on the lawn at Central Park concerts to 50,000. In 1983, Diana Ross performed in front of 350,000 and in 1991 Paul Simon did a free show for an estimated 600,000.
The last Concert in Central Park was Dave Matthews in 2003. He had a crowd of 80,000 but the event caused $120,000 worth of damage.
The New Jersey band crossed the Hudson to perform the show as a bookend to the Major League Baseball All-Star game at Yankee Stadium on July 15.
