It was announced today that Brian May, iconic rock legend and founding member of Queen, together with Kerry Ellis, are to join an amazing line up, including Lily Allen, as special guests at the major one-off concert, City Rocks at the Royal Albert Hall on 1 April 2014, in support of Coram, the world's oldest children's charity which is celebrating its 275th birthday this year.
Brian will be joined on stage by Kerry Ellis, who was the first to play the lead female role in Queen's 'We Will Rock You'. In 2011, Brian and Kerry partnered to write and produce Kerry's debut album 'Anthems' and they are currently working on her follow-up album.
In addition to Lily Allen, Brian May and Kerry Ellis, the concert will include performances by – Sophie Ellis-Bextor, most recently a finalist on 'Strictly Come Dancing' and who launched her new album, 'Wanderlust', in January; and Maverick Sabre, who has been championed by BBC 1 and 1Xtra's MistaJam's 'Ones to Watch' and whose debut album charted at No.2 in the UK.
City Rocks is being produced by leading impresario Harvey Goldsmith CBE, world class lyricist, Don Black OBE and Rocket Music Entertainment.
Coram, the charity for whom this spectacular concert is being held, and which has been helping vulnerable children to have better chances in life since it was first established as the Foundling Hospital in 1739, has been selected by the Royal Albert Hall as its first ever Charity of the Year for this event.
Tickets for City Rocks are now on sale at the Royal Albert Hall box office.
