Beach Boys star Brian Wilson heads the list of performers at the Heroes & Villains festival on London's South Bank later this year.
The singer premiered his lost classic 'Smile' in the UK earlier this year to huge acclaim, watched by the likes of Paul McCartney, Roger Daltrey and Paul Weller. The concept album was originally intended for release in 1967, around the same time The Beatles put out 'Sgt Pepper'. However, Wilson had a breakdown and the album was never finished, giving it almost mythical status amongst fans.
The legend is to perform a residency at London's Royal Festival Hall, his fourth since early 2002. The originally announced four-night run has now been extended to six for Heroes & Villians.
The event, taking place between July 24 and August 7, aims to showcase artists who have "consistently dedicated themselves to an area of song-writing and music production that is both up-close personal and outrageously ambitious".
Other artists performing include French duo Air, cult songwriter Lee Hazlewood and a two-night stint from Badly Drawn Boy.
The shows are:
Brian Wilson (24, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31)
Spiritualized/Pere Ubu/David Viner (August 1)
Air (3)
Lee Hazlewood & Morcheeba (4)
Badly Drawn Boy (6/7)
