Queen Elizabeth II has awarded Roxy Music singer Bryan Ferry with the Commander of the British Empire title (CBE) for his contribution to music.
Speaking on BBC News Ferry said "I would like to thank those who have given me the award, and all the musicians and others behind the scenes who have helped me throughout my career."
Other performers who have received this award include Shirley Bassey, Eric Clapton, Petula Clark, Billy Connelly, Roger Daltrey, Ray Davies, Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb, Maurice Gibb, Dave Gilmour, Rolf Harris, Barry Humphries, Elton John, Brian May, Dudley Moore, Des O'Connor, Michael Palin, Michael Parkinson, Robert Plant, Kevin Spacey, Rod Stewart, Sting, Joan Sutherland, Bryn Terfel and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Also honored today with the CBE were Yes/Buggles member and producer Trevor Horn and Colin Firth.
