It's going to be a scorcher at MTV News this Wednesday when the Dungeon Dragon spits fire on "RapFix Live." Busta Rhymes will join Sway on the red couch and talk about the highlights in his illustrious career and shed some light on his upcoming ninth solo album Year of the Dragon.
Busta came into the game alongside his former group Leaders of the New School more than 20 years ago and has crafted a phenomenal solo career delivering unforgettable songs like "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check," "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See," "Touch It" and his latest street single "King Tut." Never one to rely on his past, Bussa Bus is readying his first album on rap powerhouse Cash Money Records, a deal that he signed last year in conjunction with his own label the Conglomerate.
Bus made headlines this past weekend as well. During his performance at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival in New York, the fiery rap veteran excited the crowd when he reunited Leaders of the New School and A Tribe Called Quest for a rare live performance of their 1992 collaborative single "Scenario." The reunion marked the end of a nearly 20-year feud between Busta and L.O.N.S. member Charlie Brown.
That's not all "RapFix" will have to offer this week, Curren$y will also be stopping by. Over the past four years, the New Orleans spitter has carved out his own space in rap. In June, Spitta released The Stoned Immaculate through Warner and then followed up a month later with Cigarette Boats,a free EP he dropped with producer Harry Fraud. Couple that with his tireless touring efforts and it's clear to see why the Jet Life MC is one of the most sought-after hip-hop talents.
