Carl Cox and Safehouse Management are proud to announce the rebirth of the legendary Intec Records, with the brand new Intec Digital launching late January 2010.
The original and groundbreaking techno label bowed out on a high in 2006, after eight years at the forefront of electronic music. Three years on and Intec is back, re-born for a new digital generation, with the same musical ethos of unearthing original, fresh and exciting techno music from around the world.
"It's a whole new fresh start," says Carl. "The original Intec stood for something, very much of the time, but we're bringing it back, we're updating it, but with the same team of people, the same passion for new music and the same philosophy."
Carl Cox established Intec Records in 1999 with the view to bringing unknown DJs and brand new music to the forefront of the scene. It has always been about delivering music of quality and originality, which meant the label signed and released an array of lesser-known underground talent as well as those of techno elite. Over its seven-year history, artists including Marco Bailey, Preach, Sebastien Leger, Valentino Kanzyani, Trevor Rockcliffe and Bryan Zentz have produced tracks for the label. All artists share one common ground, their originality… something that made Intec Records what it was - a label that reached out to not only techno devotees, but fans of all kinds of electronic music.
In 2006 after 7 successful years in business, it was decided the doors were to be closed at Intec, celebrating its 50th release with two Carl Cox productions - 'Spoon' and 'K'Pasa,' the former a tribute to late industry pier, and friend, Mark Spoon (of Jam and Spoon fame).
Intec Digital will be born in late January 2010. Expect nothing but the best techno releases from the freshest names on the scene as well as some very special releases from Intec's tried and tested roster of DJs and producers. To help launch the label, there are also some very exciting Intec Digital events planned for 2010. Watch this space for more details.
