Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has debuted his other band the A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie in New York City at the Iridium Jazz Club.
Watts formed the band in 2009. It is named A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie because of the first names of the members Axel Zwingenberger, Ben Waters, Charlie Watts and Dave Green.
The Watts jazz band played two 75-minute sets at the club and will do two shows a night at 8pm and 10pm until July 2.
The Iridium is at 1650 Broadway, near 51st. It was the home of Les Paul who had a residency there every Monday night from 1996 until his death in 2009. The Les Paul Trio still plays at the club every week with special guests. Steve Miller, Ted Nugent and Jeff Beck have at times joined the band on stage.
The A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie released their album 'Live In Paris' last week.
