A host of new stars have been confirmed for VE Day 70: A Party to Remember, the star-studded celebratory concert that will take place on Saturday 9 May at London's Horse Guards Parade in St James's Park.
Britain's Got Talent winners Collabro, pop-rock duo Chas & Dave, and classical soprano Laura Wright will be joining an already wonderful line-up to perform songs of the war-time era and there will be more live readings from actors Honeysuckle Weeks, John Simm, Julia Sawalha and Laurence Fox.
Hosted by Chris Evans, the star-studded concert is a focal point of the national celebrations for the 70th anniversary of VE Day and will be broadcast that night on BBC One and on BBC Radio 2. Already announced for the concert is: Adrian Lester, Alexander Armstrong, Alfie Boe, Bernard Cribbins, Blue, Diversity, Elaine Paige, Gregory Porter, Ian Lavender Jamelia, Jane Horrocks, Katherine Jenkins, Pixie Lott, Rebecca Ferguson, Status Quo and Strictly Come Dancing.
VE Day 70: A Party To Remember is a Royal British Legion concert produced by Live Nation and the BBC. It is part of three days of commemorations in Central London from 8-10 May to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day. Members of the public are invited to come to the capital for a series of events ranging from a parade of veterans and Service personnel supported by bands through Whitehall, to a service of thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey, a flypast of the famous Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Red Arrows, street parties around the UK and this start-studded concert.
Broadcast on BBC One, the two-hour spectacular forms part of the BBC's plans to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day and will be a magnificent moment the nation comes together to celebrate VE Day 2015.
