Following the scary set collapse during a performance in Ottawa, Ontario, Cheap Trick is still looking for answers.
"We simply want to know: what are the companies and organizers doing to protect the next act and the next audience?" band manager Dave Frey said in a statement. "Every act and every fan out to be asking the same question when attending an outside musical event."
Both the band and their crew narrowly escaped death on July 17, 2011 when the MNBA Stage roof at the 2011 Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest fell down during their performance. While weather was likely a factor, the band still believes there is more explaining to be done.
"Was it a design flaw? Was it an implementation mistake?" Frey continued. "These are important questions that must be answered."

The band feels appreciative for the outpouring of concern and support over their well-being, but would like to make sure there are no repeat occurrences.
According to their statement, Cheap Trick is actively participating in investigation efforts both independent and by the Ontario government, and hopes that other involved parties will do the same.
